The discovery of the fire

THESE EARLY PEOPLE ARE AMAZED. THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE FIRE!

Early people are really excited about the discovery of the fire because they know that life is going to be very different.

Why is the discovery of the fire so important?

Location: Early people can choose any place to camp because fire makes any location cooler and nicer.

Movement: As early people can control fire, they can move into colder regions. Fire can keep the early people warmer.

Protection from animals: That's great! Early people have just realized that fire scares away the hugest animals so they are safer in a campfire.

Protection from disease: Early people can cook food so the food they eat is now healthier and softer. As a result, it is easier to survive for both, the young and the old.

Social life: Early people are now happier because they can collect around the fire each night and share the funniest stories of the day's hunt.

Appearance: These early people have got smaller teeth and jaws than their ancestors.

Migration: About one million years ago, these people leave Africa and travel to other continents, where temperatures are colder and harder in search of food.
